Parrot Uncle Light

Tiffany Style Flush Mount Light: Parrot Uncle
I was given the opportunity to review a light from Parrot Uncle. It was great timing because we needed a light in the bedroom. I choose this Tiffany style flush mount fixture. This type of light is perfect for a bedroom.  It was packaged sturdily and had a flawless shipping experience. Parrot Uncle offers free standard shipping and returns on any order over $50.  They have the widest selection of lighting fixtures that you will find anywhere.  I had a really hard time picking a light out because, they had a lot of lights that I loved!

Tiffany Style Flush Mount Light: Parrot Uncle
How did I like it?  I loved it!  The leaded glass was just beautiful.  It looks attractive lit up or with the lights off.  It is a gorgeous addition to the space and compliments the room nicely.  My bedroom isn't a space I show on the blog.  It is the space that says the most about your personality.  My bedroom is an ongoing unfinished project in true Bohemian style.  I wanted to show you this light though in the space because it really compliments it.

Tiffany Style Flush Mount Light: Parrot Uncle
Parrot Uncle has a lot of discount modern flush mount lights  also; for the perfect light in any bedroom.

Tiffany Style Flush Mount Light: Parrot Uncle
I was very pleased with this new light.  Parrot Uncle has a large selection of incredible lighting with all products 20%-50% off with a big holiday sale until the end of the year. Do you need a new light for your home?  Check out Parrot Uncle for the light you need to make your space.

Thanks to Parrot Uncle for sponsoring today's post.   The product described was provided to The Charm of Home for this post.  The written description and review was entirely my own.

Coziest Silky Soft Sheets

Perfect Linens "Second Skin" Sheets: The Charm of Home
Creating a cozy home is always one of my top priorities. When creating a cozy environment where do I start?  One of the first things that comes to mind is the bed linens.  We spend a good majority of our time each day asleep in bed yet, how often do you give consideration to the quality of that sleep? Nothing satisfies our creature comforts more than silky soft sheets.  I was given the opportunity by Perfect Linens to review a set of sheets and I can assure you that these sheets passed my coziest test.

Perfect Linens "Second Skin" Sheets: The Charm of Home
What are my standards for a comfortable set of sheets?   I must have 100% cotton, 400 thread-count, and a sateen weave is my favorite.  Perfect Linens "Second Skin" sheets were the exact set I tried out.  They are 400 thread-count, sateen woven, 100% Egyptian mercerized cotton.  So, unlike cotton sheets that feel stiff, "Second Skin" performs like a microfiber sheet which is more pliable.  The cotton is airy and doesn't cling which makes you feel snug and "tucked-in;" which is oh-so-cozy!

Perfect Linens "Second Skin" Sheets: The Charm of Home
Perfect Linens are the sheet experts. They have a website that sells only sheets. They offer a curated selection which consists of only the best of the best sheets offered.  Perfect Linens also studied the science/research behind sheets. Like... Nike and NASA...they use objective test and fabric analysis to find the most comfortable sheets.  The extraordinary suppleness of the "Second Skin" sheets are the results of a natural enzyme process that removes molecules from the cell walls of the cotton, this makes the fibers easier to bend.  The enzyme process is permanent and the suppleness cannot wash out.  They are sateen woven with fewer yarn locking intersections per square inch which means the more you wash these sheets the silkier they get.  The 400 thread-count Egyptian cotton is mid-weight which ensures durability so that they stand up to many washings.
Some sheets over time get rougher the more you wash them but, "Second Skin" sheets just get softer and smoother.  I washed our set of sheets four times and they were silkier each time.  This will eliminate your frustration in selecting sheets saving you time and money.

Perfect Linens "Second Skin" Sheets: The Charm of Home

The sheets are sized to fit any generously sized mattress. The fitted sheet is made with elastic all around the contours to fit perfectly. The sheets are also easy to care for, machine wash warm, do not bleach, and tumble dry low.  Ironing not required.  Perfect Linens also enclosed a mild detergent which preserves the fine linen fibers.  I washed the sheets with my detergent after that sample was out and I loved the way they felt with my detergent. They really get softer with every wash and feel so silky but, they are snug and keep you warm with out sweating. They really are the perfect sheets for the sleep of your dreams. With the holidays coming give your guests a good nights rest with a set of Perfect Linens sheets.
*If you are interested in getting your own set of sheets, I am happy to offer you a $35 discount code for any sheet purchase from Perfect Linens

The Year in Tea 2012

I always think I am not doing a review post, but then I realize I have one thing I do consistently each month and that is a cup of tea.  So here it goes, a review of 2012 in tea.
In January I had the rose tea.

For February there was the Valentine's Day Tea.

In March the Irish Tea.

In April, to remember the anniversary of the Titanic, I had a Titanic Inspired Tea on an old steamer trunk.

And for May, of course, I had a Mother's Day Tea.

In June I had tea on my newly painted little white chair.

In July I had an Anne of Green Gables Tea.

In August I had a fresh vine of bittersweet that looked so lovely with my blue and white.

In September I had a Fall Tea Tray.

In November I served Dutch Apple Cake with tea..or maybe that is coffee...

In December I had a cuppa tea with my winter scarf and a great book of Christmas stories.
So, I really did have something I could review in 2012.  May everyone have a fantastic 2013!
