Comforting Home

Comforting Home: The Charm of Home
When the season changes to fall I am always ready for the comfort of home. A cozy cup of tea and a delicious dessert to go with it.  For me home should be comforting in all of its' aspects.  I want it to look, smell, feel, sound, and taste comforting. (The teacup is by Old Amsterdam Porcelain Works.)

Coventry Lace Panel: The Charm of Home
That led me to come up with the idea of cooling my pie today on the windowsill.  Does anybody do this anymore?  It is such an iconic comforting image!  The lace curtain I have pictured here today is just gorgeous!  It is the Coventry Panel with a lace ring trim by Heritage Lace.

Coventry Lace Panel: The Charm of Home
These lace window panels have the most homey vibe.  They are very gauzy and remind me of a beautifully woven Victorian lace.  They are very much like the lace that hung in the windows when many home cooks did cool their pies in the window.  I especially liked the lace ring trim at the top that the panels hang by.

Coventry Lace Panel: The Charm of Home
Do you like to create a cozy home?  What comforting things do you like to do for fall?

Thank you very much to Heritage Lace for sponsoring today's tea.  The products described were provided to The Charm of Home for this post.  The written description was entirely my own.

The older porcelain cups are great for keeping liquids warm for a good amount of time. A welcome addition with your comfort food dessert.

Hi Sherry,
Your lace panels are gorgeous! I love lace blowing softly in the wind. It is comforting and brings back memories of being at my grandmother's. She too used to set her pies on the ledge to cool. I haven't done that myself because my ledges aren't wide enough but a pie sitting on a table in front of the window would have the same effect. Your pie looks wonderful by the way. Thank you for sharing with us.

Blessings,
Sandi

I love lace curtains, and the play of light or breezes through them. Just gorgeous! Thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

I love the curtains. The trim for the top of the curtain is very expensive. I love that kind of trim!! Best wishes, Linda AT Crafts a la mode
