Do You Want to Be Healed?

5 Afterward Jesus returned to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish holy days. 2 Inside the city, near the Sheep Gate, was the pool of Bethesda,[a]with five covered porches. 3 Crowds of sick people—blind, lame, or paralyzed—lay on the porches.[b] 5 One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” John 5:1-6

Just like this man we are all existing here on earth in a fallen state of illness and sin. Jesus is asking you now if you would like to get well. You only have to say yes to Him.

7 “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”

8 Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”

9 Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath, 10 so the Jewish leaders objected. They said to the man who was cured, “You can’t work on the Sabbath! The law doesn’t allow you to carry that sleeping mat!”

11 But he replied, “The man who healed me told me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’”

12 “Who said such a thing as that?” they demanded. John 5:7-11

The Jewish leaders represent people here now that are of the world (Satan rules this world and them. 2 Corinthians 4:4) They won't like it if you are healed by a miracle. Jesus wants to heal you anyway.

13 The man didn’t know, for Jesus had disappeared into the crowd. 14 But afterward Jesus found him in the Temple and told him, “Now you are well; so stop sinning, or something even worse may happen to you.”15 Then the man went and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had healed him.

John 5: 13-15

He sent out his word and healed them,
    snatching them from the door of death.
21 Let them praise the Lord for his great love
    and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving
    and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.

Psalm 107:20-22

Home Sweet Home #260

Hello and welcome to Home Sweet Home! This week I shared a long post that featured all of my Brambly Hedge China in one post.

How are your New Year resolutions doing? Was one of them to stay fit? I loved Alexis' post on Easy Affordable How Workout Programs to do Even with Physical Limitations.

Mickey at My Bashful Life is also getting us on the right track with her post Family Command Center. Do you have a command center? I have, since the kids got into school. There was no other way to keep track of it all!

Michelle at Our Crafty Mom took an old 70's style end table and created this Indian Inlaid Stenciled Table! It looks like it would work perfectly in the new Bohemian vibe decor scene! Just brilliant Michelle!

And then, after you have worked-out, organized the command center, and reworked a thrift store find how about making this decadent and easy cake in One-Bowl Orange Vanilla Butter Cake! From Jean at Delightful Repast.

Home Sweet Home #208

Hello and welcome to Home Sweet Home! This week I shared three Warm Winter Soups I made for my son's birthday this past weekend.

I talked about My Role as Dr. Mom and the use of essential oils.

There are so many great ideas, great decorating, and delicious recipes at the Home Sweet Home Party each week. You all had a lot of great post! Here are a few that caught my eye.
Everyone was sharing many love filled posts for Valentine's Day last week.

Patti at Old Things New shared this recipe in Chocolate Raspberry Love.

Laurie at Heaven's Walk shared a post about a different kind of love in The Love That Breaks a Heart. Laurie has shared a post like this before at HSH but I think it is important to highlight it because she has an unbelievably eloquent way of expressing her feelings and it is touching in so many ways. I am so happy she finds a way to write about it and love her dearly for sharing it.

Cathy at Vintage Paint and More shared a lovely DIY Valentine Mantel.

Monika at Handmade Creations shared some lovely things in Happiness is Handmade.
