I have been wanting to take pictures of this autumn tea for awhile. It is not quite autumn yet, but, it is a sweet tale that gets me in the mood for the season. This "Autumn Story" of Brambly Hedge written and created by Jill Barklem. The story is about a little mouse family that is gathering supplies for the coming winter. As they are gathering their bits and bobs of food and supplies, they lose a member of their mouse family, their youngest daughter, Primrose.
The art on the plate of the china comes from the Autumn Story, a scene where Primrose is lost and exploring.
Jill Barklem's art of the mice from the hedgerow is absolutely charming. I have been a fan since I first saw it back in the 1980s.

Such a lovely setting. Brambly Hedge has been on my wishlist, as I've never read it. It looks so charming and I think my boys would enjoy it too. I love that you have dishes to match the story, and your blackberry pitcher goes perfectly with such a beautiful bouquet.
