I am much a fan of the dark/Gothic romanticism of the Bronte sisters. This trailer shows a great deal of promise to having done a good job on this adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre. It probably won't play here but I can't wait to rent it.

I just read about that version the other day too. It does look good but my favourite is definitely the BBC version starring Toby Stephens as Mr. Rochester and Ruth Wilson as Jane. Have you seen that series? I love it!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
Oh, I cannot wait!! I am also a huge fan of Judy Dench :)
Blessings!

Sherry just watching those clips now I can't wait!! It looks soooo good. Martina

since the first time i saw the 1940's version
starring Orsen Wells...the first book i
downloaded on my kindle in january was Jane Eyre
and i was amazed at the parts that were missing from that early '40s movie. this preview shows so much of the entire story. i hope it comes to my area or maybe i can find a dvd...
thank you for sharing =)

Oh my gosh I can't wait! I think I own every version of this that has ever been made. The trailer played perfectly so well done on that too.
I'm a huge Jane Austen fan as well...I'd love for someone to do another remake of her's. Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoy your blog. Happy Weekend ~ Ann

I am looking forward to seeing this film. I am also a fan of the Brontes and was luck enough to visit York and the surrounding area where they lived a few years ago. Walking on the moors it was so easy to imagine the stories coming to life. I highly recommend a trip there for any fans! Linda
I saw this trailer when we saw The Kings Speech. I hadn't realized they were making it into a movie again, but I recognized it was Jane Eyre within seconds! I think I had to read that book in three classes in college (I took A LOT of Brit Lit and Women's Lit classes). I can't wait to see how it compares to the book.
Looking forward to this one...I have the dvd of the 1940's version; one of my favorites. Thanks for putting this up, it ran perfectly.
One of my favorite books! I used to get my babies to sleep by reading out loud to them from it, sometimes through my tears. Would love to see it, but for me the movies never compare to the book
I went to see The King's Speech recently, and one of the previews they showed was for Jane Eyre. Looks good...but my favorite version is the 40's version with Orson Wells and Joan Fontaine. I know that alot of the story was left out of that movie, but I think Wells was a fabulous Mr. Rochester. If you've never seen that one, I highly recommend it...though there is alot left out.
I just adored the book but have never seen any of the movies. I am really looking forward to this. The trailer makes it sound so dramatic!
XO,
Jane
I love the book and it just kills me when she realizes that he is a married man. She leaves with nothing and then is taken in by some siblings. I felt for her so! Joni
Oh I cant wait for it to make it's way here too!
Thanks for showing it to us.

Years ago I saw the 1940's version and loved it. I wasn't aware of this new version. I will be watching for it.
Oh! I can hardly wait. You would not belive it if I told you how many times I have read this book. I love it.
Ooooooo it looks wonderful. I havent read the book but may do now. How dark and intriguing...... Thanks for the preview.
Thanks for posting! Jane Eyre is one of my favorite stories ever. I've loved most of the versions I've seen, but my favorite is the 1983 BBC version with Timothy Dalton. Yummy.

A favorite of mine too Sherry. I cannot wait to see this version. That trailer just made me more anxious to see it - they did a great job with the trailer. Thank you for linking to Favorite Things. laurie
