Sent From Heaven

Sent From Heaven: The Charm of Home
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance-an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.

Sent From Heaven: The Charm of Home
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine.  It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

1 Peter 1:3-12: Sent from Heaven: The Charm of Home
You love him even though you have never seen him.  Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.
This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you. They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ's suffering and his great glory afterward.

1 Peter 1:3-12: Sent from Heaven: The Charm of Home
They were told their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this good news has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.  It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.
~1 Peter 1:3-12 (NLT)

I prayed to God for this week's post and this is what he gave me.
In 2016 I read the bible. I have started to read it two other times before and I never got past the first few books.  But, in 2016 I read the whole thing (my success came from not starting at the beginning, I started in the books of Wisdom). After I read it, it was impossible not to share it.  Jesus Christ has called me into a relationship and this is a collaboration with Him.  Guided daily by my Father, all glory and honor are his.

Sherry,
You won't believe it but the Lord gave me these very same verses early this morning. What a joy to receive such confirmation. God bless you! I'd like to invite you to a Facebook Group for Christian Bloggers. I think you'll receive much encouragement from it. It's called "By His Grace Bloggers". Hope to see you there!

Praise the Lord for his steadfast love and mercy! Loved opening my email and finding this post this morning. Praising the Lord for sister bloggers using their talents and voices to exalt our King.

Thank you for writing what the Spirit has given you. Your message this morning encouraged me so much. 2016 has been filled with trials for me, and in spite of the blessings that outnumbered them, the trials (health issues) have followed me into 2017, and my thoughts seem to center on the trials rather than the blessings. Your words reminded me once again of the blessed hope that awaits us. God bless you for sharing what He told you.

Hi Sherry,

I've never commented before though I've been following your beautiful blog for a couple months or more.

I just wanted to pop in to say how much I have enjoyed your recent God-honoring posts. Your bold testimony is very refreshing and I am sure that your "witness" is encouraging more folks than you know!

God bless your ministry in 2017,
Lori

That is a huge accomplishment! Congratulations. Also, you asked on my blog who made the dinner plates with the pinecones and evergreen boughs around the edges. These plates are called "Evergreen" and they are from Pottery Barn.

It really is the only accomplishment that matters while we are on this earth. That is, to have a relationship with our heavenly Father! Thank you ladies for all of the encouragement!

Hi, I love the change! Although I have always enjoyed your blog. Anytime I can go to a blog and get the Word, I'm in!
God instructed me to read the entire Bible in January of 2016. I started on the 10th and finished on May 17th, 138 days! When He asks you to do something, he helps you, it was a great time. So glad you have found a new and fresh calling....God is good all the time!

God bless,
Cathy

I've been reading recently in 1 Peter and just today focused on verses 17-20, so the silver and gold references continue on down and caught my eye when you mentioned them from earlier in this chapter. Our faith truly is more precious and lasting than those things, so your words are just another reminder of this important truth, Sherry. Thanks for sharing.
