It is time for the October Tea/Garden Journal here at The Charm of Home. The leaves are definitely turning colors, but they aren't at their peak yet. The ferns are finally giving up their good fight this year to stay green. Never have I had green ferns for this long; they always burn. The crabapple tree is full of rosy-hued bitty apples. Although I spent a good deal of time cleaning all of the flower beds out from under it last week because of a fungus that has left the tree without leaves.
The nasturtiums are putting on a show right up until frost. They are huge and gorgeous in orange, yellow and red. I love the variations in color down the veins of the pin oak leaves.
I using one of my favorite tea sets the Blue Willow teapot, made by Churchill and matching cups by Johnson Brothers.
My tea treat this week is cream cheese thumbprint cookies. I will share the recipe tomorrow, they are delicious!
How does your garden grow this season? Do you put it to bed? I will be doing that in the next two weeks.

Your post is certainly an inspiration! A million times this summer I thought I would start one, but here it is October and have not done it yet! Lovely post!
My summer flowers are still hanging on - I've got petunias and impatiens on the front porch, with pumpkins and mums. With temperatures in the low 80's this week, they'll be around at least another week, I suppose. Love the colors in your garden journal!

Beautiful Sherry! I love all your tokens of nature. My ferns lasted a lot longer this year as well. I have cut them all back now. We got our first nip of frost and I have been busy putting my garden to bed for the upcoming winter. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
