Dollar Tree Snowflake Door Hanging

I have a favorite party I love to visit every Christmas and it is Debbie Doos All Things Dollar Tree Christmas Party.  She will host this party on this Saturday December 6th.  She is a master at coming up with really great thrifty ideas and her Christmas party is perfect for those looking to do something new for Christmas that won't cost you a whole lot of money. My idea this year was to create something new for the front door.

I went to the Dollar Tree and got these acrylic snowflake ornaments.  I paid $1 for each large snowflake and $1 for the box of smaller snowflake ornaments.  I had the rest of the materials so this door decoration cost me $3.

Supplies:

(I found the snowflakes in 2 sizes, so I used each)
Gold Spray Paint
Glue
Glitter (of your choice)
Hot glue gun
Ribbon
Floral wire

Instructions:
Take the snowflakes outside or somewhere with good air circulation and spray paint them the desired color.  Let dry.  You could apply glitter with the spray paint.  I added the glitter to a few areas on the bigger snowflakes with school glue.  Let that dry. To assemble, just arrange your snowflakes on a newspaper in a fashion that you think will be balanced and hang even. Hot glue this in place.  Let that dry.  Fashion a ribbon for the top and wire that on then hang your creation.

Jalinda at The Craft in Me created these Snowflakes on her front door and I loved the "Frozen" colors she used.  She stuck her snowflakes right to the door.

I wanted to create a door hanging so I didn't have to use anything right on the door.  I tried to tone down the glitter usage but, I have already heard it about the glitter that is on the floor. I LOVE glitter.  Do you have a craft habit that annoys anyone in your house?  That is the price I pay for being in a house of all guys!  Go over and visit Debbie at Debbie Doos and see what other crafty ideas people are coming up with from the Dollar Stores.

What a cute idea! I just bought some of those today at Dollar Tree. My plan is to dangle them on the back porch. Now, I want to go back and get more; and use them on the door! Lol!

I love that blue Christmas you featured, Sherry! I'm a little "Frozen-ed" out and would probably opt for your gold flakes, but the blue does pop!
