It's March! I feel like we have made it to a milestone. We are at least in the month that will begin spring! Anyway it's March, so I dug into my cookbooks and decided to use a Darina Allen recipe. Darina Allen is a wonderful Irish chef. I was most interested in this cookbook when it came out because she advocates old-time cooking skills and cooking from scratch. This is something I have been doing a lot of for the last few years. I made chocolate chip cup cakes and I will talk more about them tomorrow.
The teacup has lily of the valley on it. The pattern is Melba and it is made by Adderley of England.
I don't know why when I think of a March tea and St. Patrick's Day that I always want to get out the silver tea set. This is just a thrift shop set of made of silver plate but it looks really elegant anyway.
The plate is made by Royal China and the pattern is Golden Valley. The pattern goes really well with the tea cup even though they don't go together. The cupcakes went over really good with the guys. There wasn't many left on the plate at the end of the photo shoot.
White tulips with the green glass vase adds to the white and green theme for my March tea.

Your green and white tea table is perfect for spring.
I like your white and green theme, Sherry. The green vase is really pretty and the white tulips, well, I love white tulips. And pink too of course. The Lily of the Valley teacup is very sweet and the plate goes so well with it. Your cakes look good too. I always bake from scratch, always have. Not very often do I ever use a mix or buy at the bakery. Home made is always better! Thank you for coming to tea and enjoy the week. Spring's a-comin'!
