In a house full of guys, the holidays are really all about the food. Sorry, I don't mean to disrespect the holidays at all, but, the way the food disappears from the table around here you would think there is never any food served! Just a few snaps of the food that went down here at Thanksgiving. The two pies above are Blueberry Crumb Pie and a Raspberry Meringue Pie, the last was a vintage recipe.
The men here are not stuffing fans. For years I made the stuffing and had to see it die a lonely death in the back of the fridge. So, I threw in the towel on the stuffing this year and decided to give a new recipe a try. I replaced stuffing with Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Bread. I had no complaints about this change. I never once heard anyone ask...hey... where did the stuffing go. Instead, I heard....bacon...ohhhh....ummmm, in a flash the bread was whisked away with the meat and the gravy and it was all over for the pull apart bead!
How did the play by play go at your Thanksgiving table this year?

sounds delicious! that pie looks so yummy!
We had our Thanksgiving dinner back on October 7 in Canada and being a family mostly of women, our dinner had lots of veggies. Oh yes, and a turkey. I can only imagine how much food has to be prepared for the hearty appetite of full grown, and growing men.
I have to agree with you...it's all about the food at our home too! That Cheddar Bacon Ranch bread looks delicious! I've seen pull apart breads alot all over blogland and pinterest.
Those pies look scrumptious!! Great image. Our play by play...two nights at a hotel casino with no cooking. Grandma babysitting in her room. Not as cozy and yummy as yours, but fun. I am going to be craving that blueberry crumble.

Those pies look beautiful, and the bread looks simply scrumptious! Everything was wonderful at our Thanksgiving, and most of the food gone. We always feel like a stuffed turkey when it's over! :)
Blessings,
Leslie
That is what I always say about Thanksgiving, we eat like we never eat, and like we will never eat again. It is weird but true. Love the pies they look delicious.

It's so true about the food! Everybody gets at least a pound or two during these holidays. Except if they are taking some serious precautions! :-) I've never tried American pies. We make our pies a little bit different. Well, I shall share a recipe once. I'd really like to make a pumpkin pie in the good old American way. I got the recipe, I just didn't try it yet. Soon. :-)
I'm salivating as I look at this delicious meal. I'd better go make some lunch!
Your pies look fabulous, Sherry! We made Kylee's Pumpkin torte, which is my absolute favorite pumpkin dessert. I've made it several times recently. We love food here too! Who doesn't? Merry Christmas, Sherry!
Well, my family is all men too but at Thanksgiving, in October for us, our children are living all over the place. One lives here on the Island, one lives in Vancouver, BC and the other as you know is living in Illinois. But when they were growing up, they loved Mom's dressing and they still do whenever we get a chance to eat together. Your raspberry meringue pie looks wonderful! Sounds like you had a real feast! Thanks for sharing this with my HOME and enjoy your weekend.
Blessings,
Sandi
