You could really call me the reluctant yard saler. A friend called this weekend and told me of this great estate sale (which, in our town, is just a yard sale where the grown children are liquifying the estate of the said downsizing relative). Anyway, the yard sale was full of some nice mid-century vintage kitchen ware. But, being in the mood for back to school and fall, I spied this adorable little world globe for $1. I am sure I had one of these when I was a kid, it is a bank and I got the bonus of a 1945 penny inside.
Now, once I was awake and yard selling you can't stop me. So I have to check out a few more. I found this adorable little ironstone pitcher for 50 cents!! I was a happy woman, definitely worth waking up for. Did I mention it was 10:30 AM when I got this wake up call, well school starts soon and no more sleeping in.
We hit the yard sales pretty late so hubs mentions we could head up to my favorite antique shop. Always loving his spontaneity, I am game for it. I found this 1969 Illinois license plate in the Illini colors which is perfect for a fall vignette. This was just $5.

Yard sales are so much fun and you found some wonderful treasures!
Haven't done back to school in many years, but I'm still always tempted to buy new spiral notebooks and write my name on them. I always loved all the paper products that went along with school. Thanks for taking us along on your great yard sale adventure. Cherry Kay
Well, looks like you had a successful day! I had one of those little globe banks too. LOL
You did find some great things. I am the same way. I love to go it is just getting myself to go. Know what I mean? Thanks for linking this up. Love the painting.
Fun, fun...and bargains to boot! Love the pitcher :)
Those are pretty little treasures.
I used to have a globe bank too
when I was little.
There is something about those globes that is hard to resist. I always have to smack my hand when I see them,as I really would have nowhere to put one. x
Some great finds. I love the pitcher!

So many fun items! (I used to have that same globe bank when I was a kid.) Great deal on the cute little pitcher.
Fun finds! I have a friend who has snapped up quite a few of those paint by number prints!
I love the deer paint by number and the wee pitcher Sherry. Back to micro class-I worked night shift and took an 8 AM class, made a B but retained nothing. Everything I know about micro I learned from working in the hospital. We yard sale every week end. We are yard sale freaks:}
I would love to find a good paint by number to paint since I have been unable to find any old ones but the ones I've seen at the stores are nothing like the old ones, sadly. Boy you sure scored well for a late start. Good for you!

I love paint by numbers! They are hot flea market items rightnow. Now following, Andrea xo

Yes I love great finds, it just makes you heart skip a beat and go faster. I use to paint a lot when I was younger with paint by number, I did a lot on velvet :-{, well it looked good back then! So glad you shared your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – your creativity helped make the party a success!
Wow! When yard sales are good, they are very good! You got amazing stuff, totally in love with your paint by numbers pic! Fabulous prices!
