I don't know how the rest of you are doing, but allergies have took their toll on me this year and last. The Dr. Oz Show this week addressed this issue with this video clip which you can view. Click the picture above and it will take you to my Pinterest page and then click Dr. Oz's picture again and it will take you to the video clip on his website. Dr. Oz interviewed an allergist with some smart strategies for managing this allergy season. I was surprised to find out that a simple solution is to mechanically block pollen from your face and eyes with a wide brimmed hat and large sunglasses.

When you refer to big sunglasses the first image that comes to mind is Jackie O. She always had such a timeless style and wore the signature large sunglasses.
Here Jackie is again with some large sunglasses and hair scarves that almost would mechanically block pollen.

So it is no surprise that starting last spring the wide brimmed hat and sunglasses began to make their way back on the runway.

So we don't have to be celebrities to be sporting our large hats and sunglasses anymore, we just have to suffer from allergies. (Ashley Tisdale)

So go ahead and grab a big hat and sunglasses. It's the latest trend and it's practical. (Stylist Rachel Zoe)
Are you suffering form allergies too?

Sherry,
This is so interesting. I'm lucky that I have no allergies and feel so bad for those who do. My husband suffers, but he always wears a baseball style cap unless in the garden then he wear a wider brim hat and he is never without his sun glasses. I hope you have a better season this year and suffer a lot less by taking this advise. I will pass this along to those I know whith this horrible problem. Have a great day..

Sherry - this is brilliant - I need ALL the help I can get... and who would have thought, all I needed to do was be stylish! AWESOME - thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend. xoxo Jalon
Okay, Rachel Zoe's little boy is so cute in that picture! So sorry you suffer with allergies. We are fortunate that in our family no one has allergies. I certainly feel for anyone who does. Hope the season gets better for you. Thank you for sharing. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
With the unseasonably warm weather we've been having, our allergies have been killing us. If nothing else, the sunglasses will hide my red and runny eyes.
Thanks for the tip Sherry! I'll surely pass it on. If it doesn't work, at least we'll look stylish!
Hugs,
Patti
Yes, some allergies, although most of my allergies are to foods....No sunglasses for those.
hang in there...
Come for a visit...and see our finished bathroom...

My allergies have already been killing me, so I'm more than willing to try anything to make them better. I notice a difference when I use my Netti pot. So wishing you a better season, one that our allergies do not kill us. Ugh! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration at Sunday's Best!
Great info Sherry! My allergies are not nearly as bad as some but I love wearing hats so this is great news to me :)
Sherry, The pollen here has been awful too! What great tips. I never though of wearing a hat and glasses! And the benefit of a hat and glasses is that you don't need to fuss in the morning getting ready to go out!
I am so happy to be blogging again, it is great to visit my blogging friends!!!!

I love the picture of the Kennedy's... I thought for sure you were going to say something about his tube socks! That's so funny isn't it? Anyway, Jacky is always the most stylish - everything she wore was classic and timeless and could even be worn today. Look at the way she is sitting there too - she has style written all over her!

Sherry, We've had pollen counts in record high numbers here. I love the Jackie K/O style large sunglasses and head scarves. She had such style.
So fun! Great to deal with allergies with style.
So great to have you be a part of Seasonal Sundays. Hope you'll join me this week too.
