This is such an easy dessert. But I often forget just how good it is until I make it every few years. The guys in the house will talk me into a pie over this, but this is just as good and better for you.
Ingredients:
2 apples
4 pats butter
cinnamon
nutmeg
cinnamon stick (for garnish)
Core your apples and cut in half. Place them in a shallow baking dish lightly oiled. Put 1 pat of butter in the center of the apple and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Place cinnamon stick in the center. Bake for 45 minutes in a preheated 425 degree oven.
Makes 4 servings
Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing this! I have thousands of apples on my one apple tree this year so any apple recipe is a friend of mine!!! lol
Yum. Thanks for the idea. I just put a pot roast in the oven and I'm heading to the store for a few things. I'm gonna get a couple extra apples to have with the roast & carrots! YUM!
I was just thinking this morning that I should make some baked apples for dessert. How lovely to see this. :)

Just had to let you know, my apples are in the oven as I type! They smell wonderful and I'm getting so hungry. Only a bit longer! Thanks
It's got few enough ingredients that I could probably even manage it. I can almost smell those apples from here...

Sherry this is such a great dish for getting in the Fall mood. These guys make the house smell so good and it's so much easier than a pie. Guess what is going on my grocery list........Thanks for the recipe.

These must make the house smell so good too.
Oh, Sherry -- this looks heavenly. Of course, I'd be putting a HUGE scoop of whipped cream on it :)

This sounds so delicious and simple to do too. I think my kids will need to make this with me.
Thanks for linking up to Momtrends!
Just searched for baked apples on Pinterest and yours, by far, is the prettiest! We've got some wrinkly apples that no one wants to eat fresh, so I think we may be having this tonight.
