Preparing for Fall

Preparing for Fall

Summer isn't over yet, but I am preparing for fall by bringing in some plants. I have brought in some ferns and ivy. I hope to bring in a few more plants and hope that they make it.

Preparing for Fall

I have a keen interest in having a few living things in the house this winter. It adds a nice feel to the home to have something green from nature during the winter months.

I have also brought in my little green baker's rack from the garden to give these plants a spot in the cottage corner. Do you have any house plants?

I took some cuttings off my Lemon Verbena, & Rosemary. For some reason Rosemary is not a perennial in zone 6. So I try to make a start from a cutting and use it the next year. I'm feeling fallish today it is 67 absolutely gorgeous. I like to try to overwinter things, I have a Christmas Rose ( Pointesttia) I have had since December, it's still alive.

This may be a double comment. I overwinter some cuttings such as Lemon Verbena & Rosemary. My Rosemary never comes back, but I take cuttings and plant those out each year. I have Christmas Rose Pointsettia I have had since last December. We'll see.

I have been thinking Fall thoughts and making preparations as well. I feel Autumn knocking. 😉🍁💛 I have a couple house plants and love them and I'm actually working on propagating a few more right now! Blessings on your week ahead Sherry. xoxo

I don’t anymore since my cat eats all my plants so I stopped having them in the house. Then I tried some nice quality artificial plants and she even gnaws on them.

I enjoy houseplants very much. With our long cold winters it is so nice to see a plant alive and growing. Not to mention that some plants help to keep our air that we are breathing at a healthier level too. We are experiencing smoke from the Canada fires. Our days have been less than bright and beautiful. Making it seem more like Autumn has arrived already. If the houseplant has a blooming flower, that makes it all the more special. I like how you have arranged and displayed yours.
