Primrose Tea

I have been looking for plants for sale but, due to the long winter the plants are few and far between.

Then this week I found a primrose.  It is just a beautiful plant.  I have always wanted one of these.  I will plant it outside later this week.

I have my pansies and viloas in a pot on the front porch.  They always are so pretty by May.   This teacup is adorned with pansies and made by Gracie China.

Tea is a really simple affair in my house.  Today I made shortbread cookies.  The recipe is for Lemonadas.  I put the lemon icing on after I took this picture and my lemon loving crew around here didn't take long to finish them.  Lemonadas are a Girl Scout cookie and I had a request to make them from one of my sons.
Are you a Girl Scout cookie fan?  They have knock off recipes so you can make them when the Girl Scouts aren't selling the cookies.
 Enjoy!

  1. My primrose is hanging on but would love warm days to get planted outside. I see my backyard is greening up as I have been watering it - right now too! Enjoyed your post!

  3. The Primroses are in bloom here...but the Tulips are just buds yet. Pretty Violets teacup! I love lemon cookies, so those are great! I used to knock off GS cookies too. Some of the varieities are wonderful! Thanks for sharing and linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

  4. A pot of primroses certainly could help me transition into spring as well. I like your violet teacup and the idea of lemon icing over shortbread cookies.

  5. I won't be planting anything for a few weeks as it still so cold with tons of snow around. It was just confirmed that PEI had the worst winter in 42 years. I was just a little girl when we had this kind of winter before which is why I'm minding it so much this year.
Your pansy teacup is very pretty and your lemon cookies look wonderful. Yum! Thanks for sharing at Tea Time and send some of your mild weather our way, OK?

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  7. Hello Sherry,
Your post is sublime! The images really draw one in. I love the little tea scene...the lighting is perfection, the flowers are gorgeous. I too, have been waiting for the plant sales. We are planning to get some this weekend.
    Sweet pansy tea cup!

  8. I'd much rather have your knock-off cookie, rather than the real deal! They sound great!

  12. Ooooh that tea cup with the violets. I just adore violets and I am starting a collection I have a few things so far. Lovely china. I wish I could use nice things but so impractical in my house. Still I can display them

  13. Great -- that's all I needed to know that there are knock off recipes for Girl Scout cookies LOL. I adore Primrose plants! Our local grocery store often has them and I pick them up to 'cheer' up the house. I've never tried planting them though. I'll have to look into that!

  15. Oh, it just makes me smile to come to your beautiful blog, Sherry. It's like looking through a lovely coffee table book. The one you pick up time and time again. The primrose is gorgeous and the table is pretty and inviting. Love it all. ~ Nancy

  16. Sherry...your primrose is lovely! And I love how you potted it up so nicely. Right now as I look out the window it's a mix of snow and freezing rain. Ugh! Spring where are thou?!!

Each year at the beginning of January, I usually find primrose in the supermarkets near me. I keep them going until it's time to plant them outside. I think it's the best plant "investment" ever. To enjoy them inside for a few months and then forever outside. :)

    Hope your week is blessed!

  17. We long for a visible change of seasons here. Alas in the tropics it just doesn't happen. But we do have greenery all year round, so it's not all bad! I love your primrose and your lemon shortbreads...lip smackin'! Love Mimi...http://atrayofbliss.blogspot.com.au/
