I was in a rush and made these super easy and super quick. So no need to sweat over making them, they can be made in under an hour.
Ingredients:
1-21 ounce can cherry pie filling
1 box of ready made pie crusts (2 in the box)
1 egg
sugar for sanding
Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees. Take out the pie crusts cut the packages open and let warm on the counter for 10 minutes.
Roll out the pie crusts on a floured surface and cut each circular pie crust in half and then in half again, so you will have 4 large pie shapes. Spoon about two tablespoons of cherry pie filling in the center of each pie crust cut out and fold over and press the edges together with a fork. Take the egg and separate the white. Use a pastry brush and brush the pie with the egg white and sprinkle the top of the hand pies with the sanding sugar. Cut four vents in the top of the hand pies and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
Yield: 8 hand pies
