You see them all of the time, new lists of the hot collectibles. If you have ever been by my blog it won't surprise you what my favorite collectibles are. I am very fond of photographing them. I have some favorites that I consider very photogenic. My all time favorite collectible is transferware. Pictured above is two patterns from Johnson Brothers, that I bought thriftly at a discount store.
This pattern is also by Johnson Brothers. I went to an auction with my Dad years ago and he bought me a whole box of this for $13. It was the very end of the auction and not too many people were still hanging around. I love deals like that!
This is a new collection for me. I have only had this large pitcher for a long time but, lately I have been picking up many pieces of ironstone very inexpensively at thrift stores and discount stores.
This is my husbands favorite collectible. He likes my pewter collection. I find pieces of this also in thrift stores, but the original collection came to me from my family.
Maps & globes are a hot item right now. I have always considered them an asset when decorating. I picked these up at discount stores, yard sales, and an antique store.
I have always identified with Belle from Beauty and the Beast (Disney version), with her nose stuck in a book. I love antique books. The ones that get my attention are from my favorite authors or poetry.
This is just a few of my favorite collectibles. What are yours?

Apparently mine are similar, since I have some pieces of the fall Johnson brothers too. I collect so many things, silver, pyrex, postcards, garden antiques. Just fun to collect what you like and brings you joy!
ReplyDeleteYour favorites are Mine too! It's amazing how we all connect here in Our Land of Blog like old friends enjoying our familiar hobbies...LOVE the way your ironstone looks on the wooden hutch, SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week,
Hugs,
Donna
I could just stare at your collections all day! Totally my style as well. The pumpkin in the little tea cup was so so cute!
ReplyDeleteI really admire your collectibles, and I admire the way you showcase them with your photography even more. Beautiful Job!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous collection! I too love the pewter one, but of course, I also admire your pretty transferware collection. I have just started with mine and I'm so happy with my red transferware, but also I don't mind any other color I can get, as they are difficult to find them around here. Have a happy week.

I have so many collections...I collect collections! Love all yours!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully photographed collections. Great ironstone collection.
ReplyDeleteLovely collections! I've been trying to collect ironstone myself. I love your collection; so prettily displayed in that hutch too! Love it! I also collect transferware; mostly blue transferware. And creamer jugs. I have a thing for creamer jugs; but usually I try not to separate a creamer jug from a sugar bowl.I feel bad "separating" a set...I usually try to find a creamer jug by itself.
ReplyDeleteTransferware has to be my #1 collectible -- I love every color and pattern. Your favorite collections are spot on in my book. Sally
ReplyDeleteI adore and desire.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collections!
ReplyDeleteOme omy- must I choose a fav collectible-not possible; I am addicted. I love so many DISHES; It always begins with "I would just like to have maybe 4 plates; or 4 c/s.." you get the idea. I have given up-this is an addition for which there is no cure-the minute I walk into another unique market or little shop I'm at it again. Need more dishes? Of course not--I just want them and I must add I DEFNITELY USE THEM..NONE ARE SAVED OR TAGGED TOO PRECIOUS TO HANDLE. The using-that's how we make the memories. Enjoy~

shelia ;)
Transferware is my favourite collectable blue or pink. You have some beautiful collections. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry,
ReplyDeleteYour photos are always so beautiful and you probably already know that I agree about transferware...my favorite collectible as well but I really have quite a few small collections around my home. I have to try to keep myself from starting new ones! Some of my favorite photos of yours with transferware are still the Fair Winds pieces with sea shells and a nautical theme. I loved that table and pics!

ReplyDeleteYour collectibles are gorgeous! I especially love the ironstone. I collect milk glass, pretty little plates (England or Germany), vintage cat and bird figurines...those are just some things off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a china collector too. But also like birds nests and old crystal, china birds and Tinkerbell. Liking the ironstone I'm seeing everywhere and may have to jump on board for that collectable too.
ReplyDeleteGreat collections -- thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the green and white plates.
I love your transferware. I sold my blue and white when I moved. Kind of wish I hadn't...
