Tea & a Crispy Crisp

It is time for a little tea for this Easter week.

This is my humble pie week or humble crisp week....

I misread the recipe and put this in the oven at 100 degrees too hot!  The crisp came out caramelized and extra crispy.  I found the recipe in Paula Deen's new Southern Cooking Bible.  I will share the recipe tomorrow.  I could seriously do a post on all of the food I have ruined trying to photograph it for these teas!  So that is why so many of my teas are sans food!

On to the cup, I found this sweet little mug at TJ Maxx.  It is made by Gracie Bone China.  This is the front...

...and here is the back.

I have been loving nest in silver plate pieces so I recreated that here.

Oh man I can just picture you baking and setting up scenes for photos....to add that baking element would take so long. Cudos to you foenegyr all that effort! I know when I do 'a shoot' for a tea blog etc it take forever and that is without food. I have a major back problem and am confined to the house 99% of the time. Even just taking a few photos takes it outta me so I'm feeling your energy output. Keep up the good work....:) Enjoyed your post immensely.

Oh Sherry, I was about to say how good the crisp looked on the plate. Just let it be your little secret that you goof the food up and let everyone think you are a fabulous cook. A neighbor friend used to do that with food she didn't even cook herself....I was shocked as she told me the story of how she buys frozen lasgana and puts it in her own pan, then doesn't tell her guests that she didn't make it. At least you did make yours and it looks good, so just let mum be the word of the day. *smiles*

Cooking issues aside, your tea pictures are always so pretty. Love the bird teapot and the pretty cups. Thanks for joining my party.

Well over baked or not -- my mouth is watering!! I love pampering myself with a cup of tea in a vintage cup and saucer but throw in the dessert and it's a party! Beautiful pictures!
