
My little surprise border of self-seeded hyssop has become quite popular with the goldfinches.

I never realized it is a favorite food for the goldfinch.
I believe there are six of them in this photo. Can you spot them? They feast on the hyssop seed in the morning and again in the evening. They are fun to watch. I noticed them doing this on the zinnias last fall. It is a good reason to forget deadheading the flowers because it makes a nice native food for the birds.
