July Visual Tea/Garden Journal

July Visual Garden Journal
In the garden for July it is HOT!  But, that doesn't stop me from having tea inside and assessing my spoils from the garden.  I have the buddleia still going strong and attracting some gorgeous butterflies, roses are still hanging in there, marigolds, zinnias, Russian sage, hyssop, petunia, blackberry, and daisies.

In this picture I see dianthus, peppermint, spearmint, basil, lovage, and camellia sinensis (tea).  Yes, I bought my own tea plant this year!

The Vintage Garden Tea Towel was provided by Heritage Lace.  It is 100% cotton and so cute in the kitchen for summer.

The Blue Ribbon Crochet Napkin was also provided by Heritage Lace.  It is also 100% cotton and perfect for a cottage tea with that keen ability to be casual or formal.

The basket also has some fresh picked vegetables in it from the garden.  I have lettuce, tomatoes, squash, onion, and a carrot.  I finally figured out how to grow carrots last year. The only way to grow them in our clay soil is to plant them in containers.  That allows them to grow perfect.

Here is a better shot of all the pretties behind the teacup earlier.  The teacup is Independence Ironstone by Castleton.

Here is the parting shot.  I am really liking the monthly journal.  I am excited to see what blooms each month and how I can style it.  The Visual Tea/Garden Journal is going to be a monthly feature. I have evergreens to keep it going in the winter and I bought grow lights!  We'll see how they work this fall/winter.
Thank you to Heritage Lace for providing the Vintage Garden Tea towel and the Blue Ribbon Crochet Napkin.

  3. Lovely idea, to post monthly like this - it is a journal for you and an inspiration for others. The tea towel and napkin are very pretty - I will go over for a look at the website.

  4. Oooh, lovely garden post! It looks like your garden is doing very well this year. How wonderful you have your won tea plant now. Your journal post is fab and will be a wonderful regular feature.
I am afraid I am not as brave as you, and the heat keeps me indoors for tea. I am hoping this fall I can get outside, maybe even bring Bertha (my lace tea tent) out at least once.
    Hugs
