This week is Holy Week with Easter being next Sunday. It is a week of reflection in which we remember the steps Jesus took to get to the cross to die for our sins. The only 'food' we need this week with tea is the word of God.
The one verse that I remind myself of daily is "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46: 10
There is so much distraction today it is getting us in the wrong direction.
Try turning everything off and taking a moment to pray. By being still you might be pleasantly surprised by His presence.
Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35
"The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love." Psalm 103:8
God is so full of love for us that he sent his only son to lead us home. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6
By being still I had a revelation. God is leading us all home and Jesus is guiding us. God loves us all but, the reason there were two trees in the Garden of Eden is that from the beginning we have always had a choice. I hate to say it. It is so cliché but, the choice is good or evil. What do you choose? It is time to make that choice.
Jesus came to me and took me for a walk into heaven. The grass was so green and lush and the colors of the sky were like colors I have never seen before. It was rolling with hills and views that were beautiful. Then he walked me to a garden with beautiful trees and he took me up to one tree and pulled the branch down to my mouth. The branch was heavy with green fruit shaped like a fig but looked like a green grape and just as I was preparing to take a bite expecting to taste the flavor of the fruit; I instead felt for a second what it would be like to be without sin. I want to tell you what it was like by listing it's virtues but, when I google the list of virtues they are irrelevant because the opposites (vices) don't exist there. You want to go there! God wants you there. His love is huge! The place he is preparing for us is unlike anything you could ever imagine. It is so full of joy, love, and pleasure at being in God's presence.
"Most heavenly experiences are killed from busyness." (Bill Johnson) So I beg you this week....be still...come to know God. I pray that we are doing that now, because God is getting ready to show us the way home.
"Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God." Revelation 2:7

Sherry - You are so right in that we are so busy with worldly things and people that we don't take the time to be still and listen to the Lord. And when we do - what blessings we receive!

ReplyDeleteA truly beautiful post - and especially meaningful to me, as the verse 'Be still and know that I am God' is one I take with me to silent retreat. It's so hard to be still in this crazy world, but when we slow down we can manage it and come that much closer to God.
ReplyDeleteLovely!

ReplyDeleteSherry, that was absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing The Truth with us. I agree about busyness and love the verse about being still and knowing he is God. It is in those moments of silence and stillness that, if we open our hearts and minds, we will hear from Him.

Hi, Sherry! Just discovered your blog today and wanted to say thank you for the beautiful post, because I was so pleased that someone had "test driven" this great new journaling Bible I'd read about! Thanks to you, I hopped on over to Amazon and bought one of my own, but in the KJV. (I have Bibles in many different versions for study, but the KJV remains my favorite.) And I ordered some new strawberry tea from Amazon at the same time, so thanks again for sharing tea and inspiration!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post! Thank you so much for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteWishing you many blessings this Easter season!
Nancy

ReplyDeleteRuth
The evil ones desire is to keep us busy and distracted so we won't ponder this amazing gift of life that is only but a moment compared to all eternity. There is a choice to be made and I pray those reading your post hearts have been stirred to look up and choose the God of the Bible and the free gift of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written and thanks so much for sharing at Amaze Monday.
Happy Easter...He is risen indeed!
Blessings,
Cindy
