Today I am having a cottage tea and pouring over my Tasha Tudor cookbooks.
My new-to-me cottage teapot is why I named this my cottage tea. It is a Sadler teapot from England I scored at The Salvation Army! Sometimes I find the best stuff.
The teacup is by Grace's Teaware, no pattern listed on the bottom.
My cupcake is from the bakery. It is a carrot cake cupcake I embellished with some sugar glitter, a frosted blueberry, and rosemary.
The two cookbooks are illustrated by Tasha Tudor. I added them to my collection of T. Tudor books. She is a noted children's illustrator that I have collected the works of since I was a teen. Here is a post I had shared before with Tasha Tudor.
One blogger I have enjoyed visiting that shares her home with us is Michelle of Remembering the Old Ways. She has a blog very reminiscent of the Tasha Tudor style. Do you enjoy the cottage style or Tasha Tudor like me?

ReplyDeleteDear Sherry:
ReplyDeleteYou did well to find a Sadler. They are very fun and that one is perfect for you! I love your photos with it! So glad you shared.
I do like Tasha Tudor but I guess I do lean more towards cottage style; romantic cottage that is with some English decor mixed in. What a cute teapot and your teacup is lovely. The cupcake is really sweet and looks too good to eat. I think your nieces and their dollies would love a tea party, Sherry. I hope to see it in the near future. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful new week.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi

ReplyDeleteI love Tasha Tudor. Just thinking about her, her love of nature and wildlife, and I smile. Such a wonderful artist, too. So nice to have a collection of her books -- cookbooks, too. Your vignette is lovely. I really like the Gracie teacup. Happy Tea Day!

Oh my goodness that teapot is beautiful! You really had a great find with that one! I've not really read much about Tasha Tudor, although I have heard of her. Maybe I'll look into her more. I love the illustration of the little girl picking fruit with the little kitten at her feet! Thanks for sharing this post with us!
ReplyDeleteThat teapot is truly special. I have one very similar to it, brought back for me from Germany by my mother in law almost 20 years ago. Not sure if it's from the same line, right now it's in storage. I almost bought some of that beautiful sugar the other day, but knew that I would not be baking any time soon (I'm on a low carb diet) so I put it back:) Your cupcake looks luscious. I've never heard of Tasha Tudor, but her books look darling! Thanks for sharing over at Vintage Charm ~ hope to see you there again next week! xoKathleen
ReplyDeleteYour little cottage tea is very welcoming!
