When I got ready to set this shot up I thought it reminded me of my Grandmother's house, with something amazing smelling coming out of the oven and the chicken scratch embroidery apron. Tea cup by Gracie Teaware.
I think both of my Grandmothers had beautiful roses blooming in the summer too. Can you remember the foundation plantings around your Grandparent's houses like I can? They seem to be an integral part of my memory.
The blackberry pie bars were so easy and delicious. I will make them again. The children enjoyed!

mMMM I can smell it. I'd love a cup of tea in that delightful china tea cup too. I had some chicken scratch table cloths once but gave them to a friend. I can remember my Grand parents garden My Granddad grew fern and carnations. Grandma always had a crystal vase of them on the dining table in Summer. Nice memories.
ReplyDeleteA lovely tea cup !
ReplyDeleteThose blackberry bars make my mouth water. I have some blackberry preserves that a friend gave me that I might just have to slater on some bread! I don't remember the flowers that grew around my grandma's house, but I remember the old well and the cold, cold water we would pump out of it in the summertime! I would love it if you would come by and share this at Celebrate it Sunday!
ReplyDeletetis the season for delicious!
ReplyDeleteI have so many lovely memories at my grandparents'. Flowers were certainly a part of it, especially around my maternal grandmother's home. Your blackberry pie bars look amazing and I bet they did go over well with your children. The teacup looks right at home too. Love the roses! Thanks for joining me for tea, Sherry.

Sandi
I will have to go and check to see if the blackberries will soon be ripe here.
ReplyDeleteYour squares look delicious.
I think your tablecloth is very similar to the red and white one I used today.

Lovely teacup!
ReplyDeleteThe blackberries take a lot longer to ripen in my neck of the woods, but it is definitely time for the best of Summer berries!
ReplyDeleteLove the Chicken scratch apron Sherry! The bars sound delicious. I love blackberries. I hopped over from Sandi's today.

Our neighbor has been sharing blackberries with us so I've been making lots of BB pies...love summer! My granny loved to garden, snapping green beans always reminds me of her. I have some Autumn Joy from her garden, such a treasure!
