Today with tea I am serving a Guinness Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Glaze. (I'll tell you where I got the recipe tomorrow.) For St. Patrick's Day I like to bake with Irish flavors. You just can't get more Irish than Guinness.
My teacup is from a little stack of china I picked up at the thrift shop on clearance for $1. I am always interested in teacups for a $1! This china is Superior Hall Quality Dinnerwear the pattern is Cameo Rose.
I'll leave you with a couple of Irish sayings:
May the luck of the Irish be with you!
Lose an hour in the morning and you'll be looking for it all day.
Anybody feeling like that since we pushed our clocks forward this weekend?

My what a lovely cup and saucer and the pretty name of Cameo Rose. I love chocolate and the thought of adding an Irish flavor sounds wonderful. Your thrifting really adds to your china collection and what a great price. Have a delightful week!

Love the tea cups and that cake looks amazing. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteI love the setting you've created, it looks so warm and inviting. Lucky you finding those great teacups too!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore that teacup! I used to collect them, mostly old English ones with roses. (My wedding china is Old Country Roses-go figure.) I'm a huge Earl Grey fan, although I'm loving Vanilla Caramel these days, too:) That cake looks to die for. And yes, Guinness is quintessentially Irish, that's for sure! Funny story, being Irish my friends always kidded me because I did not like Guinness. Well, my husband and I went to Ireland for our honeymoon, and let me tell you, Guinness tastes much better over there! Believe it or not, they make it a wee bit different, something about the water....really! Anyway, can't wait to see the cake recipe!xoKathleen
ReplyDeleteGorgeous teacup and wow, that cake looks delicious. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteHi Sherry!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm still looking for that hour, unfortunately. :) My husband bought a tweed Guinness hat when he toured the Guinness brewery in Dublin. The Guinness definitely adds flavor to lots of dishes.
Your teacups are just lovely -- wish I could find some that pretty for a dollar. Visiting from Inspire Me Tuesday; have a wonderful day, Sherry!
