Do you grow herbs and save them at the end of summer for fall and winter cooking? I have in the past. There are a few different ways you could save your herbs. You could tie them in bundles and just pinch off some to cook with. You could wash them and pat them dry and save them in a basket. When they dry out in about 3-4 days you could lay them out to finish the drying process and just crumble up the herbs and store for winter in a cool dark place such as in these herb jars. One other method is to freeze them in an ice cube tray. Just chop up the leaves of your favorite herb and place them in an ice cube tray and fill the tray with water. Then when you are cooking just pop out the herb of choice and add it in to your dish.
I have used the ice cube method before and I popped the herbs out of the tray and placed them in freezer zip lock bags and labeled which herb it was. It worked great!
The spice jars are by Spode the pattern is Blue Italian.
