Do you do familiar acts to care for someone? I loved a post that Laurie at Heaven's Walk wrote about this titled House of Love.
A lot of us probably do familiar acts to help someone daily. Little things that don't take a lot of time but, they make a big difference. Our house has a lot of this going on. It is a busy center with five to eight people here most of the week. So are your acts beautiful, tired, selfish, or just performed? I am not always doing my acts beautifully but, I do it always as if it is my job, because it is. Service is a constant theme of mine at home and in life.
What does this quote mean to you?

A lovely post, Sherry. I love that chintzware teapot and the soft pink flowers you've laid in front of it. I think that the familiar acts that we do every day are tangible evidence of love - love is an action, not a feeling.
ReplyDeleteOh Sherry....you are so thoughtful. Thank you for the sweet shout out, my friend. ♥ God bless you!

Love is a choice and if you are doing whatever you are doing from love, your family will be blessed and you will, too. Are you serving them tea this way? Because I want to be in your family.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful thoughts!!
ReplyDeleteA gift to those around you- doing all things with love and graciousness.
ReplyDeleteI adore the china and the colour combination. Yes we have people coming and going all the time here so I know what you mean. Mainly though things are just taken for granted. Not sure if that's good or bad

While my parents never failed to say 'I love you' they taught me that love is truly in our actions - remembering that an older family remember really enjoys her tea most in a china cup, that another needs three pillows in the guest room etc etc. I feel loved when someone does something that has special meaning for me.
ReplyDeleteAn inspiring post. At our women's Bible study we were reflecting on the gift a woman has to "create home". Hopefully even when we're on "auto pilot" we're still creating home for our family and friends. Thanks for the post!
