Do you have a thrift store bucket list so to speak? I have a few items that I would love to find when I am on the hunt at the local thrift stores and a few weeks ago I came across some of them. I found the Brambly Hedge tea sets. If you have no idea what I am talking about Brambly Hedge is a series of children's stores created by Jill Barklem. Created in the 1980's and made into to china by Royal Doulton. This story of community of mice living in an enchanted hedge in the English countryside has been a great success around the world.
The stories feature the four seasons and a season is depicted on each tea cup and saucer, this being spring.
Here are the little mice.
Here is the creamer front and back below.
The sugar is an open sugar bowl. I found all the tea cups from each season I am just missing the tea pot.
Yard sale season has begun have you found a treasure yet?

ReplyDeleteThank you for following Me :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you found so many pieces in one place! I was thrilled to find just one small tea plate of Crabapple Cottage recently. They are all just so full of charm!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I've never heard of Brambly Hedge, but now I'm going to be keeping my eyes open!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable set! Each piece is so sweet. Last weekend was a city wide yard sale and I didn't stop at any of them! Of course it was pouring rain but, generally that never stops me. I am looking forward to yard sales this summer. I didn't hit too many last year and I have been doing major decluttering so I don't feel so bad bringing home a few "new" treasures. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh, Sherry! I'm jealous. I love Brambly Hedge. What wonderful goodies you found! Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Brambly Hedge collection! I can't wait to get out there now that the weather is nice and hit up some yard sales. I love to go to thrift stores for teacups. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful photo's.

Lisa
Those are so dear. That looks like something you might be able to find at some time or the other at Tuesday Morning. Good luck on the search for the teapot.

Hi Sherry,
ReplyDeleteThey are darling! Remind me a little of Beatrix Potter's characters! So perfect for spring, fresh and whimsical!
Poppy :)
What a wonderful tea-cup. I had never heard of this collection. It is simply charming. I am going to watch for them in our area.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of this pattern, but what a sweet tea set.
ReplyDeleteWhen I visit the antique barn I usually just browse but I like your idea of a list to make the hunt exciting.
Sherry, you already know I love children's china and this set is really wonderful! Mice are always so cute in kid's illustrations.
ReplyDeleteLovely!

What a wonderful find! I have found two mugs (autumn and winter) at a thrift store here and love them! How special to have found teacups.
ReplyDeleteHello Sherry, You are a lucky girl! A Brambly Hedge at the thrift shop! Yay! I have this set on my thrift store bucket list too. Hope I get lucky like you ; )
ReplyDeleteIt is a precious set!

I love Brambly Hedge and did not know there was china picturing it. What a sweet set.
ReplyDeleteHow darling are those!! No, I haven't found any recent treasures, but we're still in snow season, so hopefully very soon. As soon as the snow melts, there should be a lot of yard sales!
ReplyDeleteGosh Sherry, that was a lucky find. That set is so charming, I love it. Hopefully you'll find more pieces to add as you hunt around. Have a lovely day. :)
ReplyDeleteCharming, beautiful, exquisite china! I love it's whimsy!!!
