I saw something very similar to this over at Jeanne d'Arc Living . Their eggs were covered in vintage newspaper. I had some vintage sheet music that I found thrifting ( a stack of it for $7). I thought it would be nice so that is what I used.
Supplies needed for this project:
vintage sheet music
styrofoam eggs
Mod podge
scissors
paintbrush
large button pushpin
Instructions:
- Cut the sheet music out into triangles and quadrilaterals sized to fit the surface of the egg. (test this out first, some my be way too big)
- Hold the egg form and starting at the top, "paint" with the Mod Podge.
- Apply one piece of sheet music at a time, covering the egg and the top of the sheet music with Mod Podge. Smoothing it as you go with your fingers. Bumps don't matter, but smooth what you can.
- Cover the whole surface of the egg fast enough that the Mod Podge doesn't start drying and getting sticky on you.
- To dry push the finished egg into a push pin with a large button top. This forms a stand for your drying egg.
- Let it dry overnight and your done.

ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind that I have linked up a non-home post today. This week we said goodbye to a very dear friend who died after a very short battle with breast cancer. It was such a shock for us all (her daughter and my daughter are very close friends) I just wanted to somehow say goodbye.
