Origami Sailboat Decoration

For my Christmas craft I wanted something to go with my coastal decor that was super easy.  I saw a tree with a lot of little sailboats all over it and I loved it, but I didn't have any sailboats.  So I decided to create some.  I took some vintage sheet music I got from the thrift store and made Origami SailboatsThis is the link where I got my instructions but, I will show you how I did this.

The first thing you need to do is to make your sheet music a square.  Just cut the length the same size as the width.

Fold up these two corners.

Fold up the third corner till it looks like this.

Take the bottom fold and fold it back on itself like this.

Fold on dotted black line. You need to fold the entire piece in half and then unfold.

Now you will fold on the black dotted line up and make a new crease.  Then unfold again.

Fold the black dotted line up again on this side.  Then unfold again.

Now the creases will help you fold the boat together.

Like this.

Here you have the boat.

Fold up the bottom of the boat to finish.

Here it is done.  As you can tell I am not a origami specialists, but these are really easy and fun to make.

They looked really cute on our tree too.

  2. How cute and unique, Sherry! Reminds me of those folding deals we did in school. Remember those? I think we wrote things inside them?
