It's back to school time. That means really soon I might be able to carve out two, full 5 hour segments of time per week to myself. I love to get organized and get stuff done. Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday challenge this week was to take a movie title to theme your post....Home Alone was my choice. I gave my husband the idea and he actually came up with it. He is great with word games.
I actually have coffee in this cup. I will be sipping that while I am working.
What will you be doing if your kids are off to school?
The texture on the first picture and third picture is silence with linear burn at 55%.
Textures used were by Kim Klassen.

You may have coffee in the cup, but it is a wonderful cup and saucer ... so interesting .. the color, the pattern and love the word TEA! It must be tea history! Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tea vignette, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, peaceful time alone. Love that you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book or do some fun things. The vignette is gorgeous. The watch is fabulous. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! You do such a beautiful job.
ReplyDeleteI love both of your tea cups, each one has a great theme. Doesn't matter what you drink in it.
My daughter left for university last week and I miss her already. My son goes to university in our city, so he is still with us. As my kids are older, I have been having some free time for a while now, and it is nice : )
Hugs,
Terri
This is such a sweet vignette. SO calming and cozy. My youngest is back to college in a few weeks and I will have a lot more quiet time. I still love the hustle and bustle when they are home though. The company is good!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Having no children of my own I can recall being at my sister's home when her children went off to school every year till collage...time fly's faster than your watch and I don't know where the time went! Beautiful post...
ReplyDeleteWell, my kids are all grown up but I still recall the quietness of the house when they were gone to school. Your teacup of coffee is exactly what I enjoy in the mornings. In fact, I enjoy two or three cups of the elixir. Thanks for sharing and having tea with me.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
What a great cup and saucer!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry
ReplyDeleteI love my 'me time' without the kiddos. Glad to see America is back to its school term routine. Funny how it affected the stats when you guys were all on holidays.
Glad you made the chicken and it was a success.
Have a great week
Best Carolyn
We homeschool so though it is back to school we are doing it for the most part here. My two oldest are done with me though and on the college. I will miss my free mornings that I enjoy during the summer while everyone is sleeping in.
ReplyDeleteHello Sherry~
ReplyDeleteFree time...mixed blessing. Great to get things done, sad to send the kids off. Up until this yr we have had year round school, so our school breaks are spread over 12 months, not clumped together for a long summer hiatus. However, this yr our daughter begins college and classes do not start until the 3rd week of September! Hurrah! We still have a month :)
Pretty photos.
Shawn
Those were the days --no kids in school any longer. makes me sad thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your free time.
Such an interesting interpretation.
Ciao, over from Kim's. Beautiful representation of Home Alone, brilliant! Love your cup, too :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!
I'm coming by from Kim's TT. Your photos are lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo and I love the tie in with the film. The texture work makes the shots so unique, lovely work . . .Teresa x
ReplyDeleteIts really great!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! Quite lovely! Though the movie "Home Alone" isn't nearly as peaceful as your time alone sounds! I won't be home alone when school starts, but I still like being down to 1 child instead of 3.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful set up, I really do like it.
ReplyDeleteHello Sherry,
ReplyDeletethat time is long ago for me. In the free time I had a tea and a favourite magazine. Thank you for sharing this beautiful vignettes. May I invite you for a tea, too?
Best greetings, Johanna
Great photo and texture work...This photo says an well earned relaxed ME time! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Sherry!
ReplyDeleteI don't have as much quiet time as I was used to right now for a variety of reasons. I'm trying to change that. I think we all do better with a measure of quietness.
ReplyDeleteOh, so beautiful. I love the cup. It is new to me (but I am new to teacups!) Your photography is lovely. My one and only is grown but is now looking for a job. I am just so grateful that she is living in town.
ReplyDeleteFondly,
Suz
Wonderful take on this week's theme!
ReplyDeleteAwww...so nice and yes, thank goodness for "Back to School"...well I suppose it has it's negative sides too :D Love the use of the texture and I absolutely love the cup and saucer.
ReplyDeleteBack to school is actually a pain for me, I have to get up an hour and a half earlier than summer :( and the routine gets worse with homework etc. but why complain? I better accept it and make the most of it. Love your pictures and my son loves your pocket watch.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteHi: I just love the pictures. It is nice to spend sometime alone. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures. I like your cup with the word TEA on it, it's special. Love the colors on it. Smiles...Lu
ReplyDeleteI love the serenity and the feeling of autumn in these photos! Your application of the textures is marvelous! What will I be doing - seems to be running from this project to that....lately, I have spent more time outdoors - it is so lovely out after all that extreme heat! Thank you for sharing this beautiful post with A Return to Loveliness,
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,
Kathy
Love these images! And that's a beautiful teacup bringing back a flow of old memories!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics! Home alone is certainly not a "bad thing" is it? Now that we have an empty nest...I'm hoping for some grandchildren. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a cup like this, interesting & beautiful without being too feminine and fussy.
ReplyDeleteWhat will I do when the 4 granddaughters staying here go to school? Why clean & organize my home, and also sip coffee or tea from lovely cups.( Maybe take a nap too.)
