Welcome to Home Sweet Home! I have shown this spot in my home before on my blog but after over 450 posts I know it is buried somewhere. This is the ledge that goes downstairs to our basement. I have had it decorated like this since we remodeled in 2008.
The basement is the teen man cave, so the nautical theme was fitting as we go down the stairs.
The teens have even added their own touch to my decor. If you look on the deck of the Mayflower here you will see Captain Jack Sparrow on the ready for any pirate adventures that may ensue.
And, what would a piratey vignette be without a pistol, some pieces of eight, and a little bit of stolen Aztec gold. Vintage pistol (Captain Jack's affects) being the inspiration here.
A very good close up of Jack. (that is for you CA) Source: http://pinterest.com/

You sold me. Since I am having a sea theme through out my home I must buy some ships to put somewhere. Love yours.

Sherry, love your boats and shells. Great for the teens to have a hang out. We saw that new movie and it was pretty good. I still like the first one best. Thanks for hosting.

Thank you, Sherry, for the shout-out! I love your nautical theme and Hubby would too as he grew up near the water. Boats and the ocean have always been a part of his life. We both adore the beach and practically live there in the summertime. Love Jack too! Thanks for hosting and enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi

Dear Sherry,
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting the party?
Best,
Coastal Blue Ocean
How cool is your nautical entry to the man cave. I just think...hard to dust? But it looks so clean!
ReplyDeleteI love how you decorated your ledge, Sherry...Christine
ReplyDeleteYour nautical themed use of that ledge looks wonderful, and I was inspired by your shout outs. I've been creatively dry for the longest time so I need the help.
ReplyDeleteLove the nautical entry theme, and those boats -- they are charming! What a wonderful way to decorate an often-overlooked spot in the house.
ReplyDeleteWe found one model ship in my parents' beach house and as I've been redecorating it, I've been moving it all over the place trying to find the right space for it; we have a ledge but it's WAY up high on a big wall of windows -- poor little boat would get lost.
Maybe it needs some friends?
Cass
I love that ledge, and Jack!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this look for the look going down to the stairs. When my son was young I had his room decorated with a nautical theme. When a local hotel was changing management and redecorating I bought a wooden ship wheel. This was the beginning of the nautical theme. After all these years its still in the attic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting your party. Hope your weekend is great.
