For some reason, and I am not sure why, I am seeing birdcages everywhere. Their popularity is in home decor and even as photography props. This birdcage I found on Pinterest.
Here is a birdcage I have that I put some shells in and a candle. I have been looking for lights like in the picture above, but haven't found any so I used a candle.

Here is what the whole shelf looks like. I usually have it decorated with the stuff I have been working with that week. Do you have any birdcages you decorate with?

I absolutely LOVE that!!! They are extremely hot in home decor right now, and like you, I'm not exactly sure why. I just know I want one....lol. Thanks for showing yours off...I love it!
ReplyDeleteBirdcages have been popular since the Egyptians. I love them. I did a whole post about them, there history and my collection not long ago. I like the lights in yours. Richard at My Old Historic House

Birdhouses are so charming. I think that is why we love them so much. I love yours with the shells and the little flag. Cute little vignette for summer. Have a wonderful 4th at the Charm of Home.
ReplyDeleteSherry your birdcage looks so pretty with the candle and shells in it!! I have a birdcage hanging in my bedroom that I added a faux plant and moss rocks too. I bought it in a Home Decor store that I loved stopping in but they went out of business in January :( Martina
ReplyDeleteI have one on the front porch...I never thought about lighting it, but that would be really pretty. I like how you did yours. I never noticed them until blogging...but I can say that about lots of things!
ReplyDeleteLove your birdcage!!!

hi Sherry, I love your birdcage, and I wish I had one. Your right, I have noticed them in decorating vignettes in shops and I think they are becoming popular again with decorators. I really like the lights in the first photo. While shopping for lights for my pergola back in the spring I found a great selection at Target. I do like the candle so you may not need lights. I think the shelf looks great, I like that you added a flag for the Fourth of July.
ReplyDeleteHope your holiday is great.

ReplyDeleteYes, I have been using them for years to decorate with. I love one in the center of a table filled with faux fruit....so pretty!

Have a great holiday weekend! La
I like the shape of this one. I don't usually see fruit detail. It looks great on the shelf.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and I know what you mean about birdcages everywhere. I've got to bring mine up for a little summer makeover, thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSherry I have a couple of birdcages I have in vignettes in my home! But they are not as detailed as yours! Your cages are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry! I have always loved birdcages and I have a couple in our home now. I love your vignette and especially the birdcage. Thanks for linking to my party this week. Take care.

So pretty Sherry. I love birdcage decor myself. However, these days, I have no room for them, and they really do not work with my old stuff too much. You done yours up right. Enjoy the 4th!
