Let's time travel back to the summer of 1961. My father was 14 and he began this collection of butterflies for a 4-H project he entered in the county fair.
Dad started this collection and having been time worn and faded, my sons and I have added to it in the last few years.
This is the stuff of summer when you raise three boys. In tribute to my Dad, my summer mantel.
I will join Layla for at The Lettered Cottage for her Summer Mantel party.
And, Time Travel Thursday at Brambleberry Cottage.
Such a great occupation for three boys - and a granddad who was a boy when he started it!

The French Hutch
That's quite a collection and nicely displayed. I'll bet your dad was extremely proud of his achievement.
ReplyDeleteThe summer of 1961, I was in diapers and everyone was at my beckon call. In a few years, I'll be back in diapers and I'll have to pay someone to take care of me. :o)
It is so nice that you have your dad's collection! And that your boys are interested in continuing it. Summer with kids is the best thing in the world I think and I treasure every moment they are home. Linda
