Time Capsule

On the antique path this weekend I found a little time capsule.

It was in the form of the Hommer's Jumbo Size Kitten Sewing Kit.  It was absolutely charming.

Let's take a look inside .  It came as is, with the remnants of a childhood project left behind.

There were a great many needle cases in the kit.  This one was my favorite.

A Flapper on this needle case.

This needle case advertised roofing.

At the bottomof the sewing kit was the original paper that came with it.

The sweetest thing in this sewing kit, was  a little handmade doll for holding a child's sewing notions.

To my surprise, I lifted the little dress and found a hidden pin cushion with the last project's pins still intact.  Such a fantastic time capsule, for, I fear gone are the days of this simplicity.

  15. What a wonderful find... I too found some adorable vintage sewing items recently, the graphics on the packaging are so charming, mine had Kittens and Hearts and Roses... alas, they no longer go to such lengths to package useful products like this. Being a fabric Artist I'm always on the lookout for supplies that will be useful and beautiful in my Studio.
