How it breaks my heart.
In the past, I have always turned off my outside lights and posted a sign saying Sorry, No Treats.
These past 2 years, 2 men from our church have sat in my carport and handed out Gideon New Testament Bibles. (I live in a townhouse complex) Our public schools no longer allow Bibles to be handed out, so the Gideons look for other ways to get New Testaments into peoples hands.
Bless you and your blog.
*Smiles*Lady Pamelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05851843371605106301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7819408858342511601.post-67621951213204415932018-09-05T13:46:33.600-05:002018-09-05T13:46:33.600-05:00Sandi, I am sorry to you also for posting hallowee...Sandi, I am sorry to you also for posting halloween on your tea parties. I too had trouble with folks sharing their Halloween posts at my tea parties and it always bothered me. Coming on the end of them, I think the ladies were more aware that I didn't care for them.
The Lord opened my eyes concerning that most wicked holiday when my son was a baby. God somehow spoke to me and led me to check it out in the encyclopedia and what I found was very disturbing. So we never did take part in it. When our children were growing up, like minded Christian friends would join us and take our children bowling and then back to the church for a party of games and treats. No Halloween treats though. Our children never felt deprived and always enjoyed themselves. It is the responsibility of we Christian parents, our teachers and preachers of the Word to teach the importance of not participating in Halloween but sadly many do not see it as dangerous. Anyway, Hubby and I took a stand many years ago and I'm thankful for those of you like yourself, Sherry, who also have. The Lord bless you for obeying Him and bringing the Light to Blogland! I am now having that same problem at my blog party. I also have a problem with mandalas, dream catchers, and any other piece of witchcraft that has made it into the home decorating trends.(Just google that, if you doubt it)
Thank you all for your support. It is a real shame that so many people have no idea where they are spiritually because they follow the world. I was one of them. They really don't know what they are doing. It comes with a heavy spiritual consequence. When the Lord wills it He can call in that debt at any time and turn you over to Satan. Satan is a life ruiner. The only true way out of this is through our Lord Jesus Christ! Today is my last blog party but for years I would ask ladies please, please, no Halloween posts. It was impossible as one way or the other - it showed up. It is sad how even Christians become entangled. I don't like seeing it in my sidebar links either but there it shows up.

On the other hand, I do not have a problem with Christians providing an alternative evening such as a Harvest Festival, etc. I think it nice for children to have something unrelated to Halloween to look forward too.Bernideen https://www.blogger.com/profile/12800285614494064098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7819408858342511601.post-2167315537540900502018-09-05T05:35:01.182-05:002018-09-05T05:35:01.182-05:00Hi Sherry! Our church used to hold a "Harvest Party" as an outreach to community but, truth be told, a rose by any other name is still a rose. My husband and I were convicted that no matter what it was called the neighboring community only saw it as a halloween party where church kids dressed up, got candy, ect. For the 2 years we participated I dressed my kiddos like little lambs, Moses, ect but we were not the norm; pirates, ballerinas and the like were more common. When we stopped participating we were called legalists and were talked about by fellow believers- hard to endure when it comes from the church. 20 years later we no longer defend our position but trust that as the Lord moves he will produce the fruit he desires in brothers and sisters. While we don't advertise our position on this issue we do answer biblically when asked. My blog will not have a halloween post, either. I am encouraged by your post and wanted to encourage you, sister- stay the course for the glory of the Lord. I wanted to join with other bloggers to participate as a host of linky parties, and I decided I couldn't make a stand with other host joining their blog and allowing others to celebrate. God has blessed me with my stand and I wouldn't have it any other way. It used to be, my church (I used to attend) did not celebrate it either. Then, our Sr. Pastor became ill and was forced to retire. The new pastor had a different view and joined in with ALL THE OTHER CHURCHS in our town and they all celebrate and give a long list of reasons why it's ok. I never volunteer to be a part of this so-called outreach night and I simply stay home. I was so encouraged with all of the positive comments I got when I posted this on my blog, I wanted to do the same for you. Perhaps it should be called "Halloweak" ;)
Have a lovely week friend!
Heather Elizabeth, aka Blue Jeans And Teacups
If you care to see my post on this topic, it is here: http://bluejeansandteacups.blogspot.com/2015/10/why-i-dont-celebrate-halloween-or-all.html Blue Jeans And Teacupshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08149417042553799295noreply@blogger.com
