Ocean Themed Mantel

It is summer so, it is officially time to put out the ocean themed decor.  I have a lot of this so I love to turn my house into a beach cottage through the summer.

The cloche is balanced on a large based candlestick and full of sea glass.

I love my mermaid.

On a vacation trip to the beach I found this nautical navigation map at an antique shop.  It makes a great base for my vignette.

And a vintage Pan Am travel poster I picked up in Hawaii is the perfect art for summer.
Do you like to pull out the sea shells for summer?

Makes me feel like I'm at the shore with all of your great pieces you've brought together for a wonderful vignette.

Love your beach theme! I have been land locked for quite a few years here in Idaho. I am so looking forward to my move to Texas near the gulf coast in just a few more weeks. Your beach glass is lovely and can hardly wait to start collecting some of my own.

Wow! These are beautiful. My sister loves the beach and her house is pretty beachy. I'll have to send her the link to your blog, some great ideas here. Happy summer!

Beach glass in a cloche, now why didn't I think of that? Love the blue, too. We are on our way home from a beach vacation, sea glass in hand. You know what I'm going to have to do with it!

Love all of these things put together -- so different than other traditional 'summer mantles' -- that's a compliment :) Love the sea glass in the cloche and the map as the base for it all. Very well done!

Oooh, This is magic. I love how the different pieces come together to evoke memories of sun, sand and the ocean. That letter in a bottle is so cute, love your mermaid and the painted candle holders. What a great idea to use that poster and map!

That post just pulls it all together. Of course with summer, out come the shells!
