Strawberry Bread

I made the children strawberry bread this past week.  They always love it and it is a nice filler when they keep asking for food.  I have made this before on the blog but, I didn't post the recipe.  Here it is:

Strawberry Bread

Ingredients:
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups sugar
4 eggs (beaten)
1 1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups sliced strawberries
1 1/4 cups pecans (chopped)

Sift together dry ingredients.  Combine remaining ingredients and make a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients.  Stir enough to moisten.  Pour in two greased and floured loaf pans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
Makes 2 loaves

My teacup has the perfect flower for May, Lily of the Valley.  The teacup is made by Adderley, it was made in England.

Do you test your baked goods with a toothpick to see when they are done?  I do and I put my toothpicks this week in my new milk glass toothpick holder.  I found this at the thrift store for $6.

I tried a home made nutbread recipe last week. ( not from a blog, just a website )

EPIC FAIL! It tested done. ( with a toothpick ) I cooled it, turned it out onto a dish. Washed dishes etc.

Later? The middle was not done at all.

LAST time I ever try a recipe that is not from a blog or somewhere that I trust. Now THIS one, I'll be trying real soon! :)
