Home Sweet Home #40

Hello and welcome to Home Sweet Home!  I just realized that it is two weeks till Thanksgiving!  So, I thought I better get some table ideas on here before I run out of time.  You all know I love the coastal look.  So, I created a coastal Thanksgiving with a vintage and shabby chic twist.

Here is the easiest centerpiece.  I bought a bag of all white shells at Micheal's and a woven cornucopia at the thrift store for $1 and filled it with shells spilling out.  My cornucopia wouldn't stand up so I just kept adding shells and propped it up.  Put candlesticks on either side of it and your done.  Simple!  The shabby chic napkins you can make yourself I show you how here.   But, you will have a lot of time in them the ruffles take a while.  Pom Pom sells them 4 for $ 81.   That is why I made mine.

The napkin ring is also simple.  It came on the bag of shells from Micheal's.  It is raffia tied through a center cut shell.  The shells are available on the web, shell shops, or at Micheal's.

The dishes are my thrifty find of the year.  I tell all about them here

Now, I would like to feature some wonderful post from Home Sweet Home from the last week.
Rene over at Miss Gracie's House did a makeover on her daughter's room.  Isn't it awesome! Click the link to view.

Next, Stacey at A Sort of Fairytale  showed off beautiful French Farmhouse photos.  Click the link to view.

Connie at Hartwood Roses is making a greenhouse out of old windows.  Isn't it fabulous!  Click the link to view.

Betty at My Cozy Corner made a Cobb Salad that looked amazing.  I forget about this salad but it makes a wonderful presentation.  Click the link to view.

And last, Elna from Elna Sudden  showed off a pillow she made.  Elna is from Sweden and has a lovely home.  Click the link to view.

Hi Sherry...

I love the idea of a coastal themed Thanksgiving or even better yet...a coastal Thanksgiving! Hehe! It makes me homesick for Corpus Christi and all of my family when I think about it! Nevertheless, your coastal Thanksgiving table and place setting is simply gorgeous! There is just a sweetness to it...can't really explain...maybe it's all the white? I love seashells...what a grand idea to use them in the cornucopia! Love that! And...of course, your brown transferware dishes are beautiful! Sooo very perfect for Thanksgiving! I love your pretty ruffled napkins too! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful table with us, dear friend! And..thank you for hosting another Home Sweet Home party! So happy that I could join in this week! I really enjoy your parties, my friend!

Warmest autumn wishes,
Chari
