Mosaic of Vintage White

I made a mosaic out of some of the vintage white items I have been photographing.  I really don't have a lot of white in my decorating.  We have raised three boys and it hasn't been that practical.  But, I am leaning toward it more all the time as they get older.  I absolutely love all the blogs that have so much white and shabby chic style.  That was my style before the children.  It reminds me of that episode of Malcolm in the Middle, the one where Lois thinks she has lost her parenting skills on her 5th boy.  Hal, trying so hard to help her, decides to call Francis and see what sparked her steely demeanor with the boys in the beginning.  In this scene Francis has come home to help Lois recall what went on during Francis' childhood.  Francis is remembering how "colorful" their apartment was.  *Note the lovely white decor when she first had the boys!

I will be linking to Mary's Mosaic Monday at her blog Little Red House.
I will also be joining Melinda for Vintage Summer Mondays at her blog Alabaster Rose Designs.
I will also link to Cielo's Show Off Your Cottage Monday at her blog The House in the Roses.
Click on the links and enjoy all the fun.

I wouldn't have thought of decorating with white while I had two little boys to raise. Wouldn't have lasted very long. White decorating does look restful though. Wonderful mosiac. Happy Gardening.

Oooo, those pretty dishes in the bottom right... ! And yes, I remember that episode -- how that pristine room contrasted with their present day home! :)

Having raised 3 boys, white was also not my choice of color. Your white mosaic is great.

Love the colorful apartment! Too funny. I like white, too ... especially as a background to *splash* color on ... uh, oh ... does that mean the colorful apartment is mine? !!!!!!!

That was a fun post! I hadn't seen that episode. I like a bit of white when I decorate but I am probably more of a colour person. I probably should use a bit more white as it does seem very calming!

Best wishes and happy Mosaic Monday,
Natasha.

I love whites too and don't have as much in my decoration as I'd like for the same reasons. Practical. But, most of the children have grown - I can envision changes in our future!
Lovely mosaic - inspirational.

I've never been a big fan of decorating with a lot of white, but I recently bought white matelasse for the guest room - it's versatile, and I can bleach it!
