Tablescape Thursday: A Picnic

The weather Monday in the midwest was beautiful!  It was a great chance to get the kids and get out of the house and enjoy one of our most wonderful places-the lake.  So we packed up a picnic, vintage style.
We had some Anchor Hocking green plates.
The tablecloth is upholstery fabric with a button print all over it.

I used some vintage napkins with our silverware rolled up in them.  To keep it all in  place I took some soutache braid and threaded it with some old buttons to use as  napkin rings.
The fare was simple pb & j's , celery, carrots, dip, and fruit.
It just doesn't get any better than taking time out to enjoy a beautiful day.
I will join Susan at her site Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.
Please click on the link and go to view more tablescapes.
I will also link to Summer Sundays at The Tablescaper.  This is a fun new meme about what summer means to you.  Please join her.

Ooooh, I need some plates like that! I just received some of the Anchor Hocking emerald green glasses from my father-in-law, and they'd be great with those plates! What a beautiful and amazing picnic setting you've arranged!

The simplicity is so stunning. Makes me want to take some time to sit outside by a bit of running water. Oh, drats, I live in west Texas, it's almost 100 degrees... may I come visit you for a bit? Very inviting.

This looks so lovely and peaceful. Lucky you that it's so close to home.

I love your button motif: the tablecloth and napkin rings! Very creative.

I'm hosting a new meme, "Summer Sundays". It's all about what summer means to YOU - like a picnic by the lake? Hope you'll come and join the fun.

The setting by the lake seems so peaceful. The picnic basket is cute and colorful with the flowers draped over it. I like the way you made the napkin rings that continued the theme in your tablecloth.

Wonderful post...love the lake views and the button fabric is sooo cute. How cute to use buttons for the napkin "rings." I love that idea! :-) And I love that you are "smelling the roses" not letting life pass you by!
