2nd Time Around Tuesday

I am taking a leap into the blogging world and joining A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words in the 2nd Time Around Tuesday Wall Hangings edition.

I was in the local thrift store yesterday looking for something interesting.  I found this lovely vintage chalk Santa.  I was amazed he was still in one piece; because, he is around one foot tall.  He has a scuffed up nose, which makes him a little more charming.  I haven't decided what to do with him yet.  He would look great featured in the center of a wreath.  Thank you for having 2nd Time Around Tuesdays.  I enjoyed adding a post.  Learning the etiquette for blogging only been posting a week.

Your vintage Santa must have been the inspiration for the one I have... picked it up at Target a few years ago. I wired him into the center of a HUGH artificial wreath and hang him on my focal wall every Christmas. I even have a box of mini-Shiny-Brite ornaments (found them on eBay) and hang those on the wreath as well. For the past three year, my Christmas decorating has been in a 40's-50s style with a little bit of the 60's thrown in here and there!

I have seen this Santa on someone else's blog and it was new. I guess they reused the mold. The Santa in my picture has a "patina" of dirt and dust. It is mixed with glitter-so I wouldn't think of cleaning that off. Have a great Christmas!
